This installation is a bit problematic. I really should just format the disk, but I was hoping the problems could be solved by just a fresh install of Win 10.

"High Definition Audio Device", from Microsoft. Again, I didn't record was the hardware actually was, but this is an HP.

"High Definition Audio Device" is the default crap they install for any speaker system. Sorry, I was hoping that there would be a better description of the device my bad.
As for formatting the disk, when you're having problems, it's best to start from a clean state.

Nah, you're absolutely right, I was just hoping I could get away with a less work-intensive option. Lesson learned. I've been looking at some other machines to get some better processing power; maybe a tower to act as the base machine (for the company's work, maybe a server application or two, and Out of the Park Baseball) and then turn this guy into the roam-around device, once we are all roaming around again.
